Who doesn’t love road trips?
There are so many incredible winding roads that weave in and out of the mountains. With iconic stops along the way, you are sure to find yourself at many picture perfect moments. What are some iconic locations in BC?
The Largest city in the west coast of Canada not only offers a urban environment to its visitors but it also accommodates for those who enjoy the rural vibes nearby a city. Just a short drive and you can be snowboarding on one of the many mountains, at least for the next couple of months. You could also find yourself hiking along the paths of Stanley Park or again in the mountains. There are different events and artists that tour through the city so you are always able to find something interesting to do.
If you like the idea of suntanning in a semi-desert climate with a brisk breeze coming off the nearby lake then you should visit British Columbia’s interior. Have fun on the lake wake boarding, water skiing, paragliding and tubing.

After your ferry ride, stay a night in Vancouver to experience the hustle and bustle of the big city. Drive East and you’ll hit Harrison Hot Springs where the lake is warm, yet refreshing and the locals are very friendly. Trans Canada from Hope to Cache Creek:
You can experience gold rush history in 150 to 200 kilometres (93 to 124 miles) starting in Hope. But first, take a quick detour to the Othello Tunnels, which are cut through solid granite, in nearby Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park.
Then follow the Trans-Canada Highway that hugs the Fraser north to Hell’s Gate, the deepest and narrowest point of the river. Here, you can take a dramatic airtram ride over the raging waters. Continue north to Tuckkwiowhum Village, a First Nations heritage site near Boston Bar that offers lessons in Nlaka’pamux culture. Further on in Cache Creek, which once served as the halfway point for prospectors on their way to the Cariboo gold fields, you can go geocaching to uncover your own treasures.
Sasquatch Provincial Park:
Just a short drive from the Harrison Beach Hotel, you’ll find the beautiful Sasquatch Provincial Park. It’s a great road to take if you only have an hour or two to explore. You’ll find a couple lakes and some picnic spots with beautiful views.
Manning Provincial Park:
Located in the heart of the Cascade Mountains, Manning Provincial Park offers another quick road trip from Harrison. This 1.5 hour drive takes you into tremendously diverse landscapes and plentiful flora and fauna. Hiking trails are its chief draw, but the park also offers horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, fishing, mountain biking, and, in winter, cross-country and downhill skiing.
