When it comes to live music the lineup for February, March & April consists of talent you won’t want to miss.
On stage in February is Richard Wood & Gordon Belsher. For over 20 years Richard wood has wowed audiences around the globe, has won three Canadian East Coast Music awards and has 5 previous CD recordings. This Prince Edward Island fiddler and entertainer was once named one of Canada’s top 100 Canadians to watch by MacLeans Magazine. Also based in Prince Edward Island Gordon Belsher has been entertaining around the world for over 40 years through his concerts, conventions and pub appearances. Past and Present winner of “Roots Traditional Recording of the Year” at the Music PEI awards Gordon Belsher has been bringing joy to audiences wherever he plays. This dynamic dual will charm you with their passion, versatility and pure talent!
If Blues, Jazz or the combination of both is up your alley then be prepared to be blown away by the talented Carlos del Junco. This Cuban born artist delivers a stunning performance combining a myriad of groves including swing, Latin, hip hop, ska and traditional New Orleans rock! Del Junco (which roughly translates to “of the reeds”) believes music is just a different way of creating textures and shapes”. His sophisticated sound has been described as soulful, sensual and sexy. There is no other artist like Del Junco out there, come experience him on stage in March.
Who else can be described by fans as “if the rock icons Steely Dan added Annie Lennox as their lead vocalist”? Glenda Rae & the Essentials more than match that unique fan description. This talented group has been delighting fans around the globe with their unique style of Pop Rock and Blue Eyed Soul. Glenda Rae finds her inspiration in blues, gospel and jazz and is also a talented song writer and true interpreter. No matter who the artist is, she serves the song and hit home with her fans. Brett Wade, guitarist and vocalist is known in Canadian music from his time in the band “The Electric Prunes, the Dale Jacobs Band, the Wade Bros and Stallion Thumrock. Miles Black a renowned keyboard player also has a true talent when it comes to songwriting. Another important member of this group is one of the best drummers in Vancouver, Phil Robertson who is no stranger to plain in Harrison. This combination of talent hits the stage in April.
Harrison Hot Springs likely not the first place that comes to mind when you think of music festivals but this small lakeside community is home to a great festival! Harrison is unique in that it offers small town community feel while hosting national and international talent.
